Family fun

We took the grandchildren and their parents to see the lights at Callaway Gardens the other night. Papa drove, GG (great grandmother) rode in the front and the rest of us squeezed in the back. It was freezing cold and we all huddled under blankets with our gloves, hats and scarves on.

What a wonderful thing it is if you allow yourself to see the world through a three year olds' eyes. Morgan was so excited she could hardly sit still. Well, actually she could not sit still. We rode through the park in the back of her mommas car; this in itself was an amazement to her. Riding in the car not in her car seat, with the back gate open!!! Oh My Stars!!!  Her 15 month old cousin Kaeden was thrilled to be in on the adventure. Grammie (me) had the most fun of all. They crawled to the front of the car and then to the back; driving their parents nuts! I, on the other hand, loved watching the excitement on their faces as each new lighting display came into view!

The dancing soldiers, the flying fairies, Santa's workshop...each better than the last. Music accompanied all the displays and that made them even more magical. Those two little ones eyes could hardly take it all in.

We shared cups of hot cocoa after the ride. On the whole we ALL had a great time.

The New Year is upon us

My eyes are full of little ones as I look into the future.
Three grandchildren keep me busy.

The youngest is one month old and her momma is my only daughter. We are very close and so I spend a lot of time with them. Momma has three more weeks off before she returns to work. We have enjoyed our time thus far, watching this new little girl grow. Her big sister, who is three, loves her little sister like mad. Watching Morgan love on Lily and help her mother with diaper changes and feedings is a joy.
Our boy, who is 15 months old, is my son's son. He is adorable. So full of mischief, just like his daddy was. He has a fascination with wheels. Mind you, not just cars, anything with wheels. I think his first word was "Vroom"!!
These three have a hold on my heart.
