First trip with baby girl!

Spent the day preparing for a quick trip to see my husbands mother in Virginia. She has not met the new little girl. It is an eight hour trip that will most likely take 10 hours.  The baby sleeps really well in the car. Morgan is the one we are taking the DVD player, the crayons, the etch a sketch, the Innotab 2 and anything else we can think of for!!! Anything to keep a 3 year old happy!!

I can remember riding in the car when I was little. We moved from from west Texas to Nebraska when I was four. We packed all our belongings in a four door Ford. They packed the back seat level with the back window. That's where we rode, my dog and me. Good thing I was little!! No car seats, so seat belts! I truly don't know how we all survived. We never stayed in a hotel, we slept in the car at rest stops. I have no clue how long the trip was. I can only imagine that it was longer because of me!

I remember another moving trip from Washington state to San Antonio Texas. This time we were in a station wagon, the one with the fake wood on the side. It was me and my three brothers. We padded up the back end of the wagon with old quilts and the three boys rode back there. I was 14 and was way too old (cool) to ride in the back. That trip was forever long. I read every book I could get my hands on. Mostly Agatha Christie! At one gas station we drove off and left the dog. The youngest of the boys was supposed to walk her. Boy was my dad ticked off when he realized we had to turn around and go back.

Well, gotta run and finish packing for me!
